Tampon Tuesday 2024: Another Triumph in Addressing Menstrual Product Accessibility

United Way Sault Ste. Marie & Algoma District proudly announces the success of the 7th annual Tampon Tuesday event, held on March 5, 2024. This impactful campaign raises awareness about the scarcity of menstrual products in crucial community spaces. This year's success is further highlighted by our new partnership with OC Beauty, contributing to the campaign's growth and reach.

We extend our sincere gratitude to the over 30 drop-off locations, including local businesses, grocery stores, and pharmacies, for their unwavering support. Special thanks to the Sault Ste. Marie District Labour Council for their continued sponsorship, that has been essential to the event's success. A heartfelt thank you goes out to Caceila Trahan for her inspiring speech and for adding a powerful voice to our cause. We also want to express appreciation to businesses such as Zonta, RBC, Superior Staff it Inc, and the entire community for their generous donations.

Where did the product go?

720 unopened boxes of product will be received by Harvest Algoma and will be available to their over 70 partner agencies across the Algoma District!

400 unopened boxes of product will be received by St Vincent Place, SOYA (Save Our Young Adults) and Northland Adult Learning Center.

As we announce our astonishing success of 1120 unopened products of menstrual products, we reflect on the collective impact achieved by rallying together as a community. Tampon Tuesday 2024 not only addresses immediate needs but sparks conversations around menstrual health, fostering a more inclusive and supportive community for all.
